We have some fresh Apple rumors doing the rounds. Latest is that the Cupertino-based manufacturer will launch a mini (7 inch) version of its iPad in August, the next-generation iPhone in September and a 10’inch iPad in Q4 2012. Lets take a look at what the rumor mill has to say about these devices.
It is understood that Pegatron Technology is the OEM for the upcoming iPhone and the company has already secured orders for iPhone 5 from Apple. This OEM is also manufacturing iPhone 4S and New iPad for Apple. Sources are pointing towards a sharper and bigger 4.6-inch retina display on iPhone 5. Plus, it will support 4G LTE technology. Other rumored specs include a quad-core A6 processor, updated version of Siri and a better battery than its current form. However, the new device is not expected to be slimmer than the iPhone 4S.
It is also understood that Apple is trying to secure the iPhone5.com domain name. However, this domain is currently being used by a forum to talk about the upcoming iPhone. Consequently, Apple has gone ahead and filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) regarding the domain name.
Apple is working on a mini version of the iPad which is expected to be unveiled in August. China’s Foxconn Electronics is rumored to be the OEM for this device. Rumors speculate that this form factor will sport a 7.85-inch screen with 1024×768 resolution. LG Display and AU Optronics (AUO) is believed to be the display supplier.
There is very little information but it is rumored that Apple is working on a 10-inch iPad which it expects to unveil in Q4 2012. We have our doubts on this one, especially given the fact that Apple recently unveiled the New iPad and it is working on a mini version of iPad (assuming its true!).
Until there is an official announcement from Apple expect to see more rumors in the coming months!
